We’ve added a couple of files to our very popular Sing-Along Materials offerings ... John Pratt’s compilations of lyrics and melody lines of some Tom Lehrer songs that are suitable for group singing.  These are PDFs, free to download by clicking the links. 

Brahms composed two versions of his “Variations on a Theme by Haydn”, one for two pianos and another for orchestra.  John Pratt’s new arrangement creates a chamber music version of this wonderful music combining much of the lightness of the composer’s piano version with a WW4’s contrasting and beautiful sonorities.  Visit our listing page for additional info. 

John Pratt has now arranged two more of Haydn’s Op.20 finale fugues for flute quartet, those from No.5 and No.6.  A group of four flutes is well suited to the kittens-on-the-keys feel of these fugues, which are a blast to play.  Find additional info on our listing page.

D’Indy composed his Choral Varié pour Saxophone solo (ou Alto) et Orchestre in 1903, and also created his own orchestral reduction arrangement for alto saxophone (or viola) and piano.  The piece is appealing and distinctive, solemn and tender, and adapts nicely to the alto flute, highlighting the beautiful, intimate quality of that instrument’s low-register tones.  Read more about the Choral Varié solo part transcribed for alto flute on our listing page.
